Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the website, registration, and participation in programs offered by Grit + Grace Sports Academy (“we,” “us,” “our”). By using our site, purchasing a pack, or having your athlete participate in a session, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Eligibility & Parent / Guardian Responsibility

Our programs are designed for youth athletes, typically in grades 3–12. By registering an athlete, you confirm that:

  • You are the athlete’s parent or legal guardian, or have permission from the parent/guardian to register the athlete.
  • You are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into agreements.
  • All information you provide during registration is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

2. Accounts, Login & Security

When you purchase a drop-in or pack, an account may be created for you using the email address you provide. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

  • Use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
  • We may suspend or disable access if we detect suspicious activity, policy violations, or security concerns.

3. Sessions, Packs & Training Credits

We offer individual drop-in sessions as well as multi-session packs. When you purchase a pack, you receive a certain number of training credits linked to your account/email.

  • Credits: One credit generally equals one training session unless stated otherwise.
  • Linked to your email: Credits are tied to the email used at checkout and should be used under that account.
  • Transferability: Within a household, credits may be used for siblings as permitted by our policies. Please contact us if you need to adjust which athlete uses a credit.
  • Expiration: Packs may have a use-by date or season window, which will be stated at purchase or communicated via email. Unused credits after the expiration window may be forfeited.

We reserve the right to modify session schedules, locations, or formats (for example, to adjust class size or respond to facility or safety constraints). We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes in advance.

4. Attendance, Cancellations & Make-Ups

We ask families to respect the time and space limitations of our programs:

  • Advance notice: If you need to cancel, please give at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer the spot to another athlete.
  • Late cancellations / no-shows: Sessions missed without required notice may result in the associated credit being used and not eligible for a refund.
  • Make-ups: When possible, unused sessions may be rolled to a future date within the current season or applied to another available program, as outlined on our Waiver & Policies and Refunds pages.
  • Weather or facility closures: If we cancel a session due to weather, facility issues, or coach illness, we will make good-faith efforts to provide a make-up session or credit.

5. Payments, Pricing & Refunds

Pricing, promotions, and availability are listed on our Pricing & Packs page and may change over time. All payments are processed securely via our payment provider (currently Stripe) and are subject to their terms as well.

Our refund practices, including timelines and conditions for drop-ins, packs, season programs, and cancellations, are described in more detail on our Refunds page. That page is incorporated into these Terms & Conditions by reference.

6. Assumption of Risk & Waiver of Liability

Basketball and physical training involve inherent risks, including but not limited to collisions, falls, overexertion, and contact with other participants or equipment. By registering an athlete and allowing participation, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You understand and accept the inherent risks of sport and conditioning activities.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your athlete is physically able to participate and have consulted a medical professional if needed.
  • You voluntarily assume all risks of participation on behalf of yourself and the athlete, except where prohibited by applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Grit + Grace Sports Academy, its coaches, staff, contractors, and facility partners from any claims, demands, damages, or expenses arising from participation in our programs, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

7. Health, Safety & Code of Conduct

We aim to provide a safe, encouraging environment for all athletes. Families agree to the following:

  • Do not send an athlete to a session if they are ill, contagious, or unable to participate safely.
  • Inform the coach of any injuries, allergies, or medical conditions we should be aware of.
  • Athletes and spectators will treat coaches, staff, and other families with respect. Bullying, harassment, or dangerous behavior is not tolerated.
  • We may remove an athlete from a session or program if behavior consistently violates safety guidelines or disrupts the experience of others, without obligation to refund unused credits in cases of serious misconduct.

8. Facility Rules & Third-Party Venues

We often operate within third-party venues such as the Oak Lawn Pavilion. Families must follow all facility rules, including guidelines about footwear, food and drink, parking, check-in, and spectator areas.

Facilities may have their own waivers or policies that apply in addition to ours. We are not responsible for facility management decisions such as closures, rule enforcement, or maintenance issues, but will work with venues to minimize disruptions.

9. Media, Photos & Content

As part of registration, you may be asked to grant consent for us to capture photos or video of athletes during training sessions for training review and promotional purposes. You may withdraw consent for future use at any time by contacting us in writing.

All website content, logos, copy, and design elements are owned by or licensed to Grit + Grace Sports Academy and may not be copied or reused without our written permission.

10. Privacy & Data Protection

We take your privacy seriously. Our collection and use of personal data (including parent contact details and athlete information) are described in detail in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms & Conditions.

By using our website or registering for programs, you acknowledge that you have reviewed our Privacy Policy and understand how we handle your data and your rights under applicable law.

11. Website Use & Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse our website or systems. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, or website features.
  • Introducing malicious code, scraping, or automated access that may harm performance or security.
  • Using our site to send spam, harassing messages, or false information.

12. Changes, Suspension & Termination

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, safety guidance, facility requirements, or our programs. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and may notify you by email or on the site.

We may suspend or terminate access to our programs or online services for violations of these Terms, unsafe behavior, or other legitimate reasons. Any such decisions will be made in good faith with the goal of protecting athletes, families, and staff.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Grit + Grace Sports Academy and its owners, coaches, and staff will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, revenues, or opportunities arising from participation in our programs or use of our website.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is not allowed by law.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and applicable federal law in the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms, our website, or our programs will be handled in good faith, and if needed, resolved in the appropriate courts located in or serving Cook County, Illinois.
